Anyway, the weather has been shocking over the last few days which led to postponement of a couple of shoots. But was I allowed to lie on the sofa, drink beer and scratch my bits? Oh no, had to get the camera out and photograph my own progeny (great word).

The wee man, Cairn, turned 2 last week and he got his first bike. Think I was about 8 before I got a bike, even that was made out of old fish boxes and Ford Anglia parts.

Here he is.

He needs to work on the smile though; that’s a little sinister.

Of course this is how my children always are. They never fight, bite, throw books, cups, tractors at each other. They never kick, push each other off heights, steal from each other etc. They are wee angels.*

* Statement is false.

Anyway, whatever the weather the most beautiful thing to grace Glasgow on Sunday was Kate. She and Euan are such a great couple and I know that everyone had a fantastic time celebrating with them.

Here are a few sneaky peaks to whet the apatite.

Mr John Malcolm of John Malcolm Hairdressing. He is nicer than he looks. If I had hair I would trust him to cut it.

This is one of my favourite bits of every wedding day. The first time they see each other.

Yes people, wedding over. Now of to Edinburgh’s largest reception venue. Murrayfield Staduim. Awesome.

This was amazing. All the guests (capable of walking) were out on the pitch side for the biggest Orcadian Strip the Willow I have seen.

It was a really memorable day for everyone. While there I was wishing I was a real rugby fan (or understood it). But even as someone with no particular emotional connection to the place, Murrayfield under the lights is amazing. For about five minutes I was the only person out there, will never forget it. Thanks to Susan and Andy for a great day. Have fun in Italy. xx

This is Matteo and Sarah on there wedding day in  summer 2010.

You cant see it but there is a twinkle in Matteo’s eye.  That twinkle turned out to be Little Alba.

And, on Sunday I had the enormous pleasure of being able to photograph Alba’s christening.

It was perfect.  The church down the road was being repaired so the ceremony took place in Sarah’s family home, the same place they got married 2 years ago.  Sarah’s sister Louisa ( who was one of Sarah’s bridesmaids) is now little Alba’s God Mother.

Isn’t Alba a beautiful name, and so apt.  In Gaelic it means Scotland and in Italian it means dawn or daybreak.

Jennifer and Alan planned their wedding to perfection. I have never before had a groom pull out CAD drawings of the floor layout of the venue. The cleanness and purity of the design was perfect. The simplicity of the scheme was perfect. The yellow was perfect. This was a beautiful wedding.

Here are a few images from Jennifer and Alan’s big day at City Halls, Glasgow.

Michael knows it, so does Susan now.

Michael and I were at school together, we were best friends then he discovered girls and I discovered the pain of constant rejection.  He got back in touch last year when he realised he could save himself a few bob by asking me, his old mucker to shoot his marriage to the lovely Susan.

He aged well, and although he could  make a decent living as a Theo Paphitis looky-likey he now runs a Panasonic shop in Inverness (say you read the blog and he will give you a £1 off purchases over £1000).

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I headed up to Elgin to cover his big day ( I say his big day as I feel sorry for Susan, she could do so much better, possibly a Duncan Banantyne impersonator,  but she has settled for Mike).

Anyway, the fact that they have returned from honeymoon and have seen their wedding photos means that I can share a few more faves of mine.  I will not show any mooning shots, (what is it with farmers and exposing there arses?).

Saturday, Glasgow, DRY, Kelvingrove, Kate, Euan, lawyers, health hazard amphitheatre, Commonwealth Games, crown green bowls, 39, home, kids party. 

Sunday, 7am, 7mile run (my furthest yet, so proud of myself, sponsor me here..http://www.justgiving.com/WinstonsWishLauder make sure you mention my name so all the ladies see how popular I am.  I know not keywords but important), swimming with the kids (my kids, not just random kids), Edinburgh, Inverleith Park, Botanic Gardens, Andy, Susan, apologetic accountant, archaeologist, toy boats, coffee, Robin, fornicating frogs, scuffed shoes.

Then,  chafing, The Balmoral, Rowan, Grant, civil servant, IT guy, tweed, big puffy skirt, Tardis, street dancing (dancing in the street), barely walk, Calton Hill, got down on knees and can’t get back up, regretting running seven miles,  Chippy food poisoning, cold now, big hugs, bye.

Right gotta go.  Big Wedding tomorrow and I have to iron a shirt (yes I can iron, I’m a new man).

The day started as many weddings do for me, becoming “one of the girls” and popping into the hairdresser to talk about curlers, shoes, boyfriends, ladies problems, sheep etc while I get some images of the bride and maids beginning the beautification process. I didn’t know that it end with the most spectacular light show I have ever seen and one I will never forget. In between there was a fantastic wedding at a stunning venue in ok weather with lovely people.

Now this last one isn’t one of mine, don’t know who who took it, I stole it from the BBC website. This is what I saw on my way home.

It was absolutely bloomin’ amazing. I’m not usually one for speaking to myself but when I saw the fireball I said “what the f**k is that?” I watched it streak through the sky for about 20 seconds before it disappeared into cloud. Will never forget it.

It is surely a lucky omen for Lesley and Stewart.
